Creative and Unusual Ways to Save Money

Saving money isn’t fun and it isn’t a walk in the park either. The thing is that saving money doesn’t have to be some form of mundane task and you can easily put away a huge pile of cash every single week without even feeling the effects.

Use Cash

A lot of people use their debit card for any transactions. If this sounds like you then you need to make sure that you take out your cash at the beginning of the week so that you have a set budget. It is very hard to go over this budget because a lot of stores don’t allow you to pay half cash and half card. If you do draw out cash then you will think twice before you spend your money and you can set whatever limit you want. At the end of the day, you just have to find one that is comfortable for you.

Save your Fivers!

Once you have your cash in hand, it helps to save one kind of note. For example, fivers. If you go out to dinner and the bill leaves you with a fiver at the end, put that to one side. If you do this every time you end up with that kind of note, your savings will rocket and it is a great way for you to teach yourself that some notes are for saving and that others are for spending. This can be done with any type of note and it is a brilliant way for you to save up as well.

Grow your Own Fruit and Vegetables

This may sound strange, but you need to look around your local fruit and vegetable store so you can see what you can grow. This is one of the best ways for you to cut back on your supermarket bill and you would be surprised at how much you can grow in a very small space. Consider having a trellis that runs up the side of your home for vine tomatoes, or even have an empty bin full of compost where you can grow potatoes or even onions.

Hire a Tax Professional

Did you know that there are plenty of ways that you can save on your tax, you just have to know which ways to do it! When you hire a tax professional, they will be able to work with you to make sure that you understand the system and that you get the chance to cut back on your tax bill by a huge amount. If you have tried to do this yourself but have gotten in a sticky situation as a result then you may want to consider hiring a tax attorney instead. When you do this, you can easily get the most out of your yearly bill and it also helps you to have more money left over at the end of the year as well.

Be Thrifty

Coupons, discounts and more are all there for you to take advantage of. If you want to save money then this is a brilliant way for you to do so. All you have to do is use them when you go to your local store, but if you don’t have any coupons then you can easily sign up to newsletters. You may feel that all of this is just junk mail but if you look at the value it has to offer you, you’ll soon see that they are well worth it. Even 10% off your weekly shopping bill can make a huge difference, especially if you are putting the savings to one side.  You can also shop in the bargain bins and the other discount sections. Usually the items that have been put here have damaged boxes or even slightly damaged products, and there is nothing at all wrong with them.

Shop Smart

Think about it, do you really need to buy a sandwich to take to work every single day? When you’re out shopping, you can easily buy whatever meat is on offer and take your own. This will save you a small fortune every single day and you can even use the time it would take you to go to the shop in other ways. You could get some more work done while on your break or you could even take a walk. Little things like this can really help you to curb your bad spending habits and if you buy a coffee out at the local coffee shop quite often then this is also another habit that can be stopped by simply buying a good coffee while it’s on a deal at the supermarket.
